About

Hello!
Since reaching a certain “milestone age”… don’t ask… I have found myself feeling a great sense of urgency to make lifestyle changes that would better suit this stage of my life.

Time is ticking faster than ever and it has now become a priority to ensure I use my time wisely pursuing those long-awaited dreams…you know the ones on the “maybe I will do that one day” list. Well, I have now taken early retirement from a job I loved to search for adventure. I feel the moment has arrived to explore the world more freely, enjoying new experiences, letting curiosity ease me away from my comfort zone.

Travelling has always been a passion all through my life, but work commitments and family life have made it harder to do the type of travelling that really excites me the most. For years I have been a traveller interrupted, just like so many other people who wish to travel more, but lack the time or the funds to do it.

The typical two week holiday here and there does not satisfy my hunger and expectations any longer. Taking early retirement was a no-brainer and I feel very privileged to be in a position to do it now. I stopped working in October 2017 and since then have been able to travel for extended periods of time.

My husband and I bought a Motorhome (RV or home-on-wheels) in January 2019 and we have already done two long tours in Europe. The first one from February to May ‘19 was spent exploring parts of France, Spain and Portugal. The second one from end of June until end of September ‘19 we travelled to the far North of Europe, above the Arctic Circle, to Nordkapp in Norway, and then slowly made our way South through that stunningly beautiful and friendly country.

For the next few years we plan to spend time travelling in Europe in our Motorhome (RV,) mostly during the Spring and Autumn seasons, but we also want to enjoy other types of travelling such as by plane, bus, train, boat, on foot etc. We don’t want to limit ourselves to just one type of travelling.

I have no intention of changing the name of the blog, although I am no longer a traveller interrupted. This blog is a record of my travels and also anything else that I feel like sharing here. It is not written for commercial purposes and any travel reviews, advice or opinions expressed here are my own. I will not be writing about any sponsored content. I had a job I loved as a dietitian working for the National Health Service in the UK, but I am now retired and blogging is just a hobby. I am not a writer, just someone who enjoys reliving my travel by writing about it. Thank you for visiting my blog .
