Ever since doing my very first mountain hike up Mount Snowdon, North Wales, in July/2015 I have felt compelled to venture up another mountain again (preferably a shorter one this time…gulp) and therefore Brian surprised me by organising a trip for my birthday.

I have never climbed a mountain before, never mind climbing the highest one in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands, but one can argue that if you are going to start climbing mountains why not start with the highest? (although the Himalayas usually is what springs to mind when we talk about high mountains to climb and maybe one day I will get there). Snowdon has been on my bucket list for ages and it has became even more appealing since my son climbed it last year with his girlfriend
I am embarrassed to admit that I have only recently found out about Cheddar Gorge in the neighbouring County of Somerset even though I have been living in the South of England for over 25 years . Recently Brian and I have been making an effort to discover more about our own backyard on short trips over a weekend either in our motorbike or car and choosing to stay in a camp-site. 2 – 4 of May 2014 – We attended the wedding (Take One) of our lovely Brazilian niece Caroline, to Englishman Benjamin on the beautiful Isle Of Wight (IOW) just off the South coast of England.
The happy couple met in 2007 in Bournemouth, Dorset. Ben was in Bournemouth attending a friend’s stag do (bachelor party) and Carol lived with us not far from Bournemouth, and on that particular night, she was out with friends clubbing in Bournemouth. I believe it took Ben few beers
October 24-26 – To celebrate my birthday, my husband Brian booked us into a gorgeous cliff top hotel by Mullion Cove in West Cornwall for a long weekend. We left home on a Friday morning and travelled there by car from Dorset. It took us about 4 hours to get there, we crossed the County of Devon and arrived at North Cornwall, Truro ( the only city in Cornwall) in time for lunch at the lovely Blue Bar Restaurant, nicely placed at a horseshoe shaped
